An event space in the heart of the city
Frequented by Artists, Brides, and Gatherers
The Square Room was founded as a integral piece of the 4 Market Square Establishment in the early 2000's and has been a source of artistic expression in the city ever since. The room itself embodies an open floor plan and is sound engineered to our precise specifications. The tones are rich and aesthetic to represent a cozy modern style. A large glass wall backs up the room and pears through to Cafe 4, the sister of sorts that supplies downtown Knoxville with rethought comfort food. Cafe 4 also provides a high level of catering to the The Square Room for events and gatherings when needed.

Downtown has a sense of energy and vibrancy. The architecture is thoughtful and aged, full of stories. Children play in the fountains and trees find a way to grow large and beautiful. We focus on continuing that light inwards, inside our space. We know what this day means to you, and it is no less than our great joy to bring your vision to fruition.

In 1913, literary genius G.K. Chesterton made his play-writing debut with Magic, a beautifully mastered "Fantastic Comedy." This piece depicts an aristocratic ensemble whose doubt, skepticism of faith and opposing ideologies arise out of the appearance of a curious evening guest. Come and enjoy how the playwright cleverly balances humor with solemnity, romance with despair, and inquiries with solutions. Watch this enthralling mystery unfold before your very eyes.
Parking is FREE at the City's Market Square (406 Walnut St.), State Street Garage (520 State St.) and Locust Street Garage (540 Locust St.) after 6 p.m.
